The seating setup - called Cozy Suite - caught our eye, as it seems to offer a solution for those among us who end up inadvertently nodding off on the shoulder of an unwitting seatmate. The seats come with a built in nook where fliers can rest their heads, much in the way passengers often lean their noggins against a window if they're lucky enough to snag a window seat.
Get ready to fly more privately with ”Cozy Suite” airline seats - March 9th, 2009 - 4:46 pm ICT by ANI
The new “Cozy Suite” seats are “a major step forward in passenger comfort” and cater towards the growing size of passengers. However, no Australian-based airlines have purchased the seats as yet. The seats are staggered in a bid to create a more private space and also provide passengers with a place to rest their head while sleeping. By staggering the seats and overlapping the armrests, the company could increase the width of each seat to 50 centimetres and a knee space of 78 centimetres, five centimetres more than other airline seats.
The return of in-flight Dignity Peter Martin - Esquire Magazine Jan 21st 2009
No one likes to see suffering. It's why there aren't tours at a veal farm, why Virginia is separate from West Virginia , and on airplanes, why there's a curtain between first class and coach. But after years of having cost-saving indignities forced upon him, the ordinary traveller has reason for hope: The "cozy suite" making coach-class shame - if not the curtain - a little less necessary. No matter the size of your neighbour, his largesse is in front of or behind you - never pressed tightly against. Each seat has a curved shoulder, giving you something to lean against that's not attached to a stranger.

“As soon as we saw Thompson's Vantage seat we knew they had solved the puzzle and that we were looking at a win-win product for both Airline and passenger”.
