Thompson Aero Seating Celebrates International Women in Engineering Day

Thompson Aero Seating (TAS) is proud to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), recognising the vital contributions of women across its engineering teams and reaffirming its commitment to diversity, innovation, and inclusion within the aviation sector.
TAS employs 31 female engineers across its engineering organisation, contributing across disciplines including mechanical design, certification, testing, and manufacturing engineering. These roles support the development of innovative business class aircraft seating solutions that are supplied to leading airlines around the world.
With a global reputation for engineering excellence, TAS continues to grow its talent pipeline, with female engineers represented across both experienced and early-career roles. The business recruits through graduate programmes, apprenticeships, and experienced hires, ensuring opportunities at every stage of an engineering career.
International Women in Engineering Day provides an opportunity to highlight the achievements and experiences of women within TAS, from those building long-term careers to those just starting out in the industry.
Jacky, Senior Engineer, who has been with TAS for 12 years, said:
"Over the past decade, I’ve seen real progress in both opportunities and representation for women in engineering. At TAS, I’ve been encouraged to grow, take on challenges, and contribute to projects that travel the world. It’s rewarding to be part of a team where your ideas are valued and your development is supported."
Reflecting the next generation of engineering talent, Natalia, Mechanical Design Engineer, who joined TAS six months ago, added:
"Joining TAS has been an exciting step in my career. From day one, I’ve felt supported and challenged in equal measure. It’s inspiring to work alongside such a skilled team and to see the impact of our work in a global industry."
Thompson Aero Seating continues to invest in engineering talent at all stages, working closely with schools, universities, and early careers programmes to encourage more young people, to pursue careers in engineering.
Jonny McGreevy, Chief Technical Officer commented:
"Our success as an engineering-driven business depends on diverse thinking and fresh perspectives. We are proud of the talented women across our teams who contribute every day to our innovation and growth, and we remain committed to creating pathways for future generations of engineers."
