Our sustainability journey

Sustainability is an essential part of our business strategy. It is vital that we conduct ourselves today with an approach that safeguards the future.

We support all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and have identified nine SDGs where we have the greatest impact: no poverty; good health and wellbeing; quality education; gender equality; decent work and economic growth; industry innovation and infrastructure; responsible consumption and production; climate action; and peace, justice and strong institutions.

This means that our sustainability approach is wide ranging to support not just ecological but also human and economic health and wellbeing. Our initiatives in environmental, social and governance practices demonstrate our commitment to the world in which we live and to future generations.

Environmental sustainability

Environmental sustainability is a key topic and significant challenge for the entire aviation industry. Thompson Aero Seating has already started the journey to reduce its environmental impact and to drive sustainability across all areas but recognises that much more can and must be done to steer the significant change necessary within our industry.

Practice sustainability

We recognise that the working practices within our factories and offices also have an impact on our sustainability. We are looking at our processes and systems to see where they can be updated and improved.

This includes reducing the impact of waste, becoming a low-emission business, and sustaining legal compliance.

Suppliers

Thompson Aero Seating aims to work with suppliers that have a similar ethos to our own, particularly regarding sustainability.

We have a policy in place to ensure that everyone who works for Thompson Aero Seating is aware of the value we place on diversity within the workforce and the steps we take to ensure that opportunities are available to all employees and applicants irrespective of their race, colour, religion or belief, sex (to include pregnancy and maternity), sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, political opinion, marital status or civil partnership status or gender reassignment.

We recognise our legal and social responsibilities, ensuring we follow correct procedures that are consistent with the relevant legislation and codes of practice. Our policy assists us in putting this commitment into practice. No employee, worker or job applicant will be treated less favourably than another on the grounds of any protected characteristic. Compliance with this policy should also ensure that unlawful acts of discrimination are not committed by anyone working for or with us.
