Thompson Aero Seating announces strong revenue growth and a significant increasein profit, due to huge demand for its innovative aircraft seating products
Portadown-based Thompson Aero Seating (‘TAS’) today announces that its revenue increased by over 30% in 2025, for its premium Business & First Class aircraft seating, designed, engineered and manufactured in Northern Ireland.
The company’s annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 have now been filed with Companies House and show a strong upward trajectory in profitability with profit before tax up to £20.9m for 2025, from £12.1m in 2024.
The increased revenue, up from £170m in 2024 to £224m in 2025, has been driven largely by increased delivery volumes. TAS’ growing product range of innovative premium seating continues to attract strong global demand, with many new and repeat programme awards secured from global leading airlines resulting in an end-of-year orderbook value in excess of£1.2billion, a net increase of £400m from 2024 to 2025. This strengthened pipeline of contracted business will be primarily delivered over the next five years.
There continues to be strong global demand for the company’s innovative products across all airline platforms. In the last six months alone, TAS has announced significant new contracts with world-leading airlines including Delta Air Lines and Lufthansa Group. The annual report demonstrates global reach of TAS products with significant revenue generated across Asia & Pacific, Europe, the USA & Canada and the Middle East.
Innovation and engineering excellence are key to the success of TAS. Two recently revealed stunning new products, designed and made in Northern Ireland, continue to represent TAS’sdesign philosophy of optimising all of the available cabin space to provide airlines with seats that are a real selling point and brand differentiator. One example is the TAS-pioneered product to utilise the front row of the Business Class cabin to provide airlines and their passengers with an enhanced and differentiated product. This not only offers increased personal space and privacy, but also the option for two or even four passengers to dine and socialise together with a first-class experience.
Keith Anderson, CEO, Thompson Aero Seating, says: “At over £1.2billion, our order book is incredibly strong. We have the experience, expertise and capacity to fulfil and exceed this and we continue to work to ensure that our delivery is as strong as our promise. We have a wealth of mostly homegrown talent at TAS and we continue to develop and enrich this amazing team.”
Indeed, TAS has launched a new marketing campaign based upon the real people who work within the company and make it the success that is seen today. Images of actual engineers, craftspeople and backroom team of TAS have been seen around the world, along with proud reflections of the nature and heritage of Northern Ireland.
Keith Anderson comments: “We are extremely proud of our people, our heritage and what we are achieving at a global level. There are exciting times ahead.”
